CHALLENGE

GoalZero was being overwhelmed by new foreign competition who were undercutting the market (both in price and quality). They needed to reinforce their reputation and wanted to keep growing their presence in Canada.They needed a recognizable personality who could speak to their products convincingly and relate to their customers. It had to be Mike Holmes. His passion for renewable energy on and off the job site made him the perfect partner.

GOAL

Showcase the hero product with this credible, well-respected personality who resonated with the contractor audience all the way to the enthusiastic DIY’er. The overarching goal was to work around MikeHolmes’ busy TV shooting schedule and find the right times of the year to have him speak to the hero product in a compelling and meaningful way.

RESULT

The perfect balance of these two brands coming together was a year-long social media partnership. Mike Holmes illustrated the key features that spoke to him and his love for the products was apparent in all his social posts. Due to his immense popularity, a robust discussion sprang up from each post. At the end of the year-long partnership, GoalZero held a Father’s Day promotion which resulted in one of the best sales campaign in GoalZero product across Canada through their retail channels.
